A specialist valuations firm for mid-market funds
North Star Partners works with mid-market investment funds and their transaction advisers.
We provide independent, high-quality valuations delivered with speed, flexibility, and a clear commercial perspective. Most of our work supports quarterly portfolio valuations for financial reporting and investor reports, as well as fund-to-fund transfers and transaction processes where timelines are tight and accuracy matters.
We combine technical valuation expertise with strong commercial judgement and modern tools to deliver work that is both precise and tailored to the situation.
Our model is lean by design. Our processes are structured so we can produce rigorous, defensible valuations without unnecessary layers or overheads.

Our mission
We were founded with the mission of helping small and mid-market funds with their portfolio valuations. We believe these funds should be able to access institutional quality valuations proportionate to their size, so they can focus on what really matters to them: their investments.
Leadership
Christian Mitchell, CA
Managing Partner
Christian is passionate about building relationships with investment funds and working with them to deliver clear and pragmatic valuations.
Prior to founding North Star, he worked within EY's Financial Services Valuations practice, where he advised both large and small private credit and private equity funds on their portfolio valuations. In this role, he worked across the investment spectrum from distressed equity investments to performing senior debt, across geographies including sub-Saharan Africa, South America and Asia, and in a wide variety of sectors including real estate, industrials, technology, utilities and energy.
He started his career in Deloitte's Audit practice, where he earned his Chartered Accountant qualification, and holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Bath.
Christian has extensive international experience, having worked in the UK, Japan, India, France and the DRC. He is comfortable working in French, Japanese and English, and the firm maintains a presence in London and Tokyo.
